SESAN provides project-specific engineering, manufacturing and site installation of penstocks, steel tunnel linings, branches, bifurcations, trifurcations and manifold systems for hydropower projects and pressure waterways.
Each system is evaluated according to design and transient pressures, internal and external pressure conditions, diameter and wall thickness, support conditions, thermal effects, local stresses and buckling stability, in accordance with project-specific requirements.
Penstocks & Steel Linings
SESAN manufactures exposed and embedded penstocks as well as steel tunnel lining systems according to project geometry, operating pressure, material requirements and installation conditions.
Geometrical continuity, welding quality and dimensional tolerances are carefully controlled throughout the fabrication of pipe sections, bends, reducers and transition pieces. Stiffeners and support arrangements can be integrated according to the structural requirements of each project.
Branches, Bifurcations & Manifold Systems
Branches, bifurcations, trifurcations and manifold/distributor systems require specific engineering and manufacturing expertise, particularly where a main pressure waterway distributes flow to multiple turbine units.
Branch geometries are developed considering flow distribution, hydraulic losses, internal pressure loads and local stresses at intersection areas.
Reinforcement elements, transition geometries and welding details at complex intersections are developed with consideration for structural integrity, manufacturability and site installation requirements.
